Round Collar
Despite the comfort of a crewneck sweater or t-shirt, they can look a bit plain in style, especially if they are a solid color. To spice up your look, add a necklace that's longer than a choker but still sits above the middle of your chest.
One Shoulder
If your neckline falls off the shoulder, be bolder. One-shoulder dresses leave room for a statement necklace. The same rule applies to strapless dresses. Both necklines leave empty space that can be filled with a stunning statement necklace. It's a good idea to keep your necklace neckline length with a one-shoulder neckline to avoid creating two focal points (necklace and shoulder) that diverge from each other.
Boat Collar
The boat neckline is conservative and elegant, but it also gives you a good base for layering your necklaces. To add a bit of elegance, you can use only long necklaces with chains wrapped around your neck and play with necklaces of different lengths on top of each other.
Turtleneck
V-necks call for statement necklaces. Ideally, you may want to pair your v-neck with a short necklace that sits just below your collarbones. Necklaces with large pendants and beads will add more excitement to your outfit. You can also play with proportion by stacking choker and pendant necklaces to create a different style.
Square Collar
It may be the most difficult neckline style to accessorize. You should aim to find angular necklaces that fall just below your waist. Layer your look by adding a short necklace or choker necklace that adds more complexity and excitement to your overall look.
